Pajaro Valley Health Care District welcomes your map ideas!
Using whatever maps or tools you wish (including printouts from the interactive review map) please sketch your map proposal and submit it at a meeting or by email to zones@pvhcd.org.
You can use the Interactive Review Map to review, analyze, and compare maps, but not to create them. You can zoom in and out on map boundaries, search for addresses and other locations, and view draft maps (it is very similar to Google Maps).
After you submit your map, the demographic consultants will generate the population and other demographic details for your proposed map. Once they are processed, submitted maps will appear on the Draft Maps page and on the Interactive Review Map.
It is helpful if you submit written comments with your map describing how your map was drawn to meet the required criteria. An example of this would be describing the specific neighborhoods or communities of interest that are kept within a single zone.
It is also very difficult to draw zones that meet the strict population counts required by law. If you submit directions on the geographic areas where you wish the demographic consultant to adjust your proposed zones if they are slightly out of balance, the consultants are happy to do so.
If you would like to submit a map created using your own software, please email zones@pvhcd.org and include: (1) a GIS Shapefile and/or a Census Block equivalency file (using 2020 Census Blocks); and, (2) a description of the choices and key points of your map.
